Obituary

Edmond Garland Felts, 94, of Austinville (Carroll County), passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Felts was born in Wythe County, Virginia to the late James Walter and Elva Akers Felts. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Joan Lynn Felts; sons-in-law, Carlos E. Alderman and Swanson Howard Alderman; and siblings, Odis Felts, Juanita Ogle, James Felts, and Lorene Thacker.

Mr. Felts was a World War II Army Veteran and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Five Forks. He retired from the Radford Arsenal as a pipe fitter after 38 years of service.

Survivors include his children, Brenda F. Alderman of Pocomoke, MD, Sandra Jean Felts of Austinville, and Gary Wayne Felts and wife, Shirley of Austinville; siblings, Gloal Holland, Sherlene Akers, Glenn Felts, Eldridge Felts, and Larry Felts; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and special caregivers, Kayla, Amanda, Chelsea, and Brittany.

A graveside service with burial will be at West End Cemetery in Wytheville on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. with Rev. Rich Mullen officiating. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
