Mrs. Zelma L. Bowman, age 91 of Margate, FL, formerly of Meadows of Dan, VA and Charlotte Hall, MD, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 23, 2006. Mrs. Bowman was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Charlotte Hall, MD. Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband Billy Mart Bowman; daughter Ellen Webb; and two grandsons Keith & Steven Bowman. She is survived by her children Charlie M. Bowman of Martinsville, VA, Emma E. Banks of Apison, TN, James T. Bowman of Margate, FL, Geneva F. Canard of Hague, VA, and William E. Bowman of Frisco, NC; sisters Lilah Dishman and Nellie Lowe both of Abingdon, VA; 22 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with the Rev. Clarence Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the Groundhog Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday night at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.
