Winfred "Shane" Dawson, 31 of Cana, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Dawson was born in Mount Airy, NC on May 28, 1986. He was preceded in death by his brother, Curtis Randalle Dawson.

Survivors include his son, Cayden Reeves of Hillsville; mother and step father, Sylvia Lynn Pearce Driggers and Qunie Driggers of Cana; father, Jackie Randalle Dawson, Sr. of Mount Airy, NC; siblings, Jackie Randalle Dawson, Jr. and fiancé, Mandy of Mount Airy, NC, Monica Dawson of Cana, Sabrina Lefler of Hillsville, and Wayne Dawson of Mount Airy, NC; very special friend, Melissa Simmons; nieces and nephews, Julian Martinez, Alex Dawson, Hailey Costello, Christian Dawson, Emiliana Padron, Jaylen Padron, Dustin Lee Bowman, Daniel Francis Bowman, II, and Jacob Garner Bowman.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Delbert Bledsoe officiating. Burial will follow in the Willow Hill Moravian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
