Wilma Lou Vaughn, 88 of Austinville, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Novant Forsyth Medical Center.  Mrs. Vaughn was born in Carroll County to the late Fred Jackson and Nellie Helen Rotenizer Carter.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Gilmer Glendye Vaughn; and siblings and spouses, Homer Carter, Everette and Lois Carter, Ruth and Creed Semones, and Alene Fern Smith.

Survivors include her brother, Carson Carter and Ruth; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews; special friends, Lisha Reynolds, Jessica Love, and Effie Thompson; brothers-in-law, Bob Vaughn and Dean Vaughn; sisters-in-law, Mavis Vaughn, Virginia Vaughn, Juanita Vaughn, and Edna Vaughn; and several other special family members.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Elder Ronald Bowman and Dr. Wayburn Mosley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.  A guestbook is available online by visiting www.vaughanguynnandmcgrady.com.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
