William "Vernon" White, 81 of Hillsville, gained his heavenly wings surrounded by his beloved family, on Monday, February 8, 2021. Mr. White was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Mondes and Zella May Ogle White and was dearly loved by Essie Mae White. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Erselle Williams, Sarah Price, and Judy Surratt.

Survivors include his wife, Freida R. White; daughter and son-in-law, Monique and Terry Woods; grandson and spouse, Dennie and LeAnna Surratt; great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Surratt; siblings and their spouses, twin brother, David Gernon White and Ellen, James (Sonny) Mondes White and Mary Ann, Twilla Nester, Geraldine Warner, Robert (RC) Nolen and Brownie, Patrick Nolen and Linda, and Thelma Lee Craig; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the Hillsville Pentecostal Holiness church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating. Burial will follow in the Little Vine Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. All Covid precaution guidelines including masks and social distancing are required. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
