William N. Bill Horton, 77 of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Horton was born in Carroll County to the late Waymon & Alma Beasley Horton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Edward Rush Horton. He is survived by his wife Hazel Bowman Horton of the home; daughters & son-in-law Jean Horton Nobblitt of Abingdon, VA and Lisa & Peter Smith of Linfield, PA; grandchildren & spouses Phillip & Alissa Nobblitt, Emily & Josh Herndon, and Jacob Smith; sisters & brother-in-law Geraldine Alderman of Hillsville and Rubye & Maynard Marshall of Hillsville; sisters-in-law Vida Bowman of Hillsville, Velma Horton of Hillsville and Catherine Horton of Richmond; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Fairview Presbyterian Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ronald Kronk and Rev. Levi Humphreys officiating. Burial will follow in Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1115 of Hillsville. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
