William Fred Fender 83, of Cana passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur & Lydia Bell Scott Fender; his wife, Ava Smythers Fender; and a son, Edward Paul Fender. Mr. Fender is survived by his daughter, Diana Parker, Chambersburg, PA; son & daughter-in-law, Dennis & Denise Fender, Temple, TX; sister Ruth Wood, Port Deposit, MD; three grandchildren; eight great grand children; special friend & neighbor, Christine Tate, Cana, VA Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Bel Air Memorial Park. Burial will follow in the Bel Air Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, in Hillsville.
