William Maurice Fletcher, 57 of Laurel Fork, Virginia passed away at his home on Friday, July 10, 2015 after a courageous battle with MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome) cancer. Mr. Fletcher was born September 23, 1957 in Southport, England to the late Arthur Barron and Bertie Fox Fletcher. Mr. Fletcher was married on May 23, 1980 in Visalia, Ca. to his wife of 35 years, Mary M. Fletcher. He had a Masters Degree in Forestry and was retired from BASF as an Agricultural Biologist. He enjoyed woodturning, carpentry, and backpacking and spoke fluent Spanish as he witnessed to many of Jehovah's witnesses and served as an Elder. Survivors include his wife, Mary M. Fletcher, 6 Children, 9 Grandchildren, 1 Great-Granddaughter, and 3 Brothers. A celebration of William's life will be held on August 8, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Kingdom Hall - Jehovah's Witness located at 635 Bon Air Ave. Durham, NC, 27704.
