William Nelson Dalton, 73, of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Dalton was born in Carroll County, VA to the late Alford Ward and Ruby Elizabeth Sara Goad Dalton. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Willadean Graham and a brother, Claude Dalton.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Vass Dalton of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Aaron and Kristen Dalton of Fries and Robert Wayne and Kristyn Dalton of Newport News; sisters, Mary Horton of Galax and Billie Taylor of Hillsville; grandchildren, Logan Xavier Dalton, Harmony Annabel Dalton, Jayden Riley Dalton and Josh Patrick Branch; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. David Bays officiating. Burial will follow in the Branscome Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Branscome Cemetery, c/o Joyce 407 Fieldpond Drive, Kingsport, TN 37664. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
