William F. Bobbitt, Sr. 72 of Woodlawn, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2010 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Bobbitt was preceded in death by his parents Charles & Gertrude Bobbitt, three brothers, one sister, and one son. He is survived by sons & daughters-in-law William F. Bobbitt, Jr. of Beckley, WV, Gregory P. & Terri Bobbitt of Winston Salem, NC, and David F. & Megan Nash of Roanoke, VA; daughters & sons-in-law Tarsa Daun & Wannis Allen of Jesse, WV and Theresa & Larry Wagoner of Laffette, TN; brothers & sisters-in-law Kenneth Bobbitt, Sr. of North Carolina, Charles E. Bobbitt of Hillsville, Joe & Wanda Bobbitt of Trenton, MI, David & Gail Bobbitt of Melbourne, FL, Don & Wanda Bobbitt of Peck, MI, and Randall Bobbitt of Hillsville; sisters & brother-in-law Helen Frances Whitson of Taylor, MI, Ella Sue Hamm of Kernersville, NC and Ann & Timmy Shaffner of Fries; girlfriend Darlene Perdue of Lambsburg; 21 grandchildren; and 33 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Memory Gardens. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 28, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
