William V. Austin, 90 of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at his home. Mr. Austin is survived by his wife Martha M. Austin of the home; daughters Joyce Kwedor of Hillsville and Elizabeth Cherry of Laurel, MD; step sons & spouse James & Laurie Felts of Wytheville and Allen Felts of Laurel Fork; grandchildren David Kwedor, Donna Ogle, Carrie Carlson, and Christine Cherry; great granddaughter Sarah Ogle; eight step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Austin was preceded in death by a step-son Roy Felts.

Funeral service will be on Friday, November 20, 2009 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Dr. Lawrence Childs officiating. Burial will follow in Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 19, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Flowers would be appreciated; however the family suggests memorials be made to the Hillsville First Baptist Church Picnic Shelter Fund 1401 North Main Street, Hillsville, VA 24343.
