Willa Dean Gardner Terry, age 92 and a long-time resident of Meadows of Dan and most recently of Hillsville, VA, died Saturday, the 30th of June at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice House in Dobson, NC.

Mrs. Terry is preceded in death by her husband, Mack C. Terry; parents, Eugene and Marguerite Gardner; brother, Allen Gardner; and sisters, Paulita Fagan and Burlene Reynolds. She is survived by a very special nephew, Sam Terry and his wife, Julia. Also surviving are nephews, John Allen Gardner and Jerry Reynolds (Pat); nieces, Becky Lucas (Bobby) and Mary Beth Layman (Randy); nineteen nieces and nephews of the Terry Family; and very special friend, Susan Honaker.

She and her husband worked full-time and maintained a beautiful farm next to the Blue Ridge Parkway. In their spare time they enjoyed camping and fishing. She inspired everyone with her dedication to walking until her stroke in February 2018.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to the charity of your choice. The memorial service, lead by Elders Alan and Carl Terry, will take place at New Bell Spur Primitive Baptist Church in Meadows of Dan on Tuesday, July 3 at 12 noon with visitation one hour prior to the service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
