Wayne Mark Huff, age 81 of Dugspur, peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the Rural Retreat Care Center in Rural Retreat, Virginia. Wayne was born in Deepwater Creek, Virginia to the late Mark Cannon Huff and Mildred Olene Peters Huff. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Timothy Huff, son-in-law, George Edwards, II; and half-sister, Christine Emkalns, and half-brother, Hoover Huff; brother-in-law, Curtis Duke.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Joyce Huff and loving companion Rusty (dog); daughter, Donna Edwards; sons, David Huff, and Danny (Priscilla) Huff; siblings and spouses, Shelby Duke, Darrell (Katherine) Huff, Donny Huff, and Ruthie (Randolph) Gardener; brother-in-law, Arvids Emkalns; grandchildren, Amanda Huff, Michaela Smith, Kaitlyn Bean, Ashley Huff, Ethan (Jenna) Edwards, Jacob (Kristen Ferrell) Edwards, Franklin Edwards; great-grandchildren, Gunnar Smith, Noah Grimes, Abel Spivey, Evelyn Edwards, Reilynn Edwards, Braxton Edwards, and Kinsley Edwards; and several nieces and nephews. He had a career of 34 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator at Radford Arsenal in Radford, VA before he retired. We will miss his big smile, sweet laugh, and mischievous wit.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at the Rural Retreat Care Center for their love and care of Wayne during his illness with Alzheimer's disease.
A private viewing for the family was held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel. A cremation will take place the following week and the family will have a private scattering of his ashes in Dugspur.
