Wavy Hawks Montgomery, 78 of Hillsville. passed away Friday, October 1, 2010 at the Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Montgomery was born in Ararat, Va to the late Elkanah & Elsie May Puckett Hawks. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Prude Hawks, Warren Hawks, three sisters Dorothy Hawks, Dottie Hawks, Pearl Hawks. She is survived by her husband Orby Montgomery of the home; sons & daughter-in-law Tony & Jerri Montgomery, Draper; Lloyd Montgomery, Hillsville; brothers & sisters-in-law Lawrence & Mary Hawks, Laurel Fork, Maynard & Evelyn Hawks, Valdese, N.C; Foy & Reva Hawks, Laurel Fork; sister Icy Vass, Hillsville; fourteen nieces & nephews also survive.

Family will receive friends Monday, October 4, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Rome Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Rome Missionary Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Elder Melvin McGrady, and Pastor Terry McMillian officiating. Burial will follow in the Rome Cemetery. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
