Waverly Melvin Wade, 84, of Hillsville passed away on September 28, 2007 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. He is survived by his wife Alyene Wade of the home; daughters and son-in-law Sharon Jean Wade of Hillsville, Nancy Carol and Rudolph Russell of Woodlawn; sisters and brother-in-law Betty and Tommy Mabry of Pembrook, VA, Helen Barnes of Reidsville, NC, Linda Jeffries of Hillsville; grandchildren and spouses Matthew Koenigsmann, Lisa and Harold Hall, Farrah and Charlie Vaughn, Jeremiah Russell; great grandchildren Jacob Hall, Jared Hall, Isaac Hall, Jasmine Vaughn, and Jenna Vaughn.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 1, 2007 at 7:00 PM at the Hillsville First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ronnie Collins and Rev. Ty Harrison officiating. Burial will be in the Wilkinson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 PM preceding the service at the church.
