Walter Washington Moore, Jr., 83 of Dugspur, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial hospital.  Mr. Moore was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Walter W. and Hassie Huff Moore.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Ardennia Reed; and a son-in-law, Lloyd Sutphin.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Phillips Moore; children, Vicky Sutphin, Gary Moore, Patricia Simpkins (Hal), and Debbie Matney (Randy); siblings, Coy Moore, Jay Moore (Wanda), Cecil Moore (Katie), Ella Mae Marshall, Wilma Paitsel (James), and Vada Smith (Meaph); six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service with burial following will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Polly Marshall Cemetery with Greg Cox officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery one hour prior to the service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
