In the early hours of Dec. 28th, our precious Mom left us in peaceful sleep to join our Lord.  Vivian Odell Burnette Alderman, 91 of Laurel Fork, was born August 23, 1933 to the late Ewell Roosevelt and Veva Myrtis Boyd Burnette.  She was married on January 16, 1952 to Sollie Arthur Alderman, Jr.. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years.

Survivors include their children, Rhonda A. Horton and her husband, Randy W. Horton of Hillsville, Sandra A. Alderman of Laurel Fork, Glenda A. Penley and her husband, Eddie Penley of Cana and son, SA Alderman, III of Laurel Fork; a grandson, Bradley W. Horton and wife, Jill of Galax; two great-grandchildren, Brady and Brooklyn; and several cousins and special friends.

The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM.  The funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home beginning at noon with Rev. Howard Nester.  Interment will follow at the Sollie A. Alderman Family Cemetery in Laurel Fork.  The family would like to express a special thanks to Hospice of Mountain Valley of Dobson.  In lieu of flowers, however appreciated, donations made to Mountain Valley Hospice of Dobson, NC.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
