Virginia "Gin" Strickland Jones, age 75 of Fancy Gap, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Village Care of King. Mrs. Jones was born in Mount Airy, NC to the late Horace Cabel and Virginia Catherine Sutphin Strickland. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Jones and a sister, Daphne Martin.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Perry Musick; son, Chris Jones; siblings and spouses, Patricia and Larry Gunnell, Robin and David Culler, and Jimmy and Denise Strickland; brother-in-law, James Martin; grandchildren, Katie Ross (Jameson), Emily Wood (Kevin) and Haylee Catherine Smith; step grandchildren, Abigail Musick and Adam Musick; two great-granchildren, Kyson Ross and Jaxon Ross; one step great-grandchild, Mason Musick-Law; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Village Care of King, to Pat Mabe, the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice, to Norma Musick, and to Margie Spencer for their love and care of Gin.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with David Culler and Rev. Patricia Mabe officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Spur Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
