Virginia Mae Persinger , 87, of Hillsville, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Golden Living Center-Blue Ridge. Mrs. Persinger was born in Carroll County to the late Posey and Almeda Martin Sawyers.   In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Persinger.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Elmo Hiatt officiating. Burial will follow in the Bobbitt Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 13, 2016 from 12:00 until 2:00 prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
