Obituary

Virginia "Jenny" Lee Harmon Nobili was born at Radford Hospital on August 10th, 1942 to June Bayne Harmon and Mabel Winesett Harmon of Woodlawn, Va. She is preceded in death by her parents and an older brother, John David Harmon, who passed away shortly after birth in 1940.

Jenny is survived by her husband of 53 loving years, John Erminio Nobili, of the home. Three children, son, Tony and Donnamarie Nobili of Charlotte, NC, daughter, Angela Besse Christian and Edward Christian, of Tampa, FL, and son, Chris and Christina Nobili of Charlotte, NC. Six grandchildren, Harmon, Reed, and Bayne Nobili, sons of Tony and Donnamarie Nobili; Nicholas Del Gigante, son of Angela Christian; and Mason and Mabel Nobili, son and daughter of Chris and Christina Nobili.

Jenny met the love of her life, John Nobili, in 1968. They were married for 53 years and had three children, Tony, Angie, and Chris and they served as surrogate parents for every child in the area while they owned and operated the Carrollwood Skating Rink, Campground, and Fish Lakes for over 40 years. Jenny loved looking after and caring for others and was actively involved in the community to make it a better place for all. She was also involved in many civic organizations, such as The Red Hat Ladies, Rotary International, sponsoring the Carrollwood Astros Little League Team, and was a 50-year member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Woodlawn.

Jenny passed away peacefully at home at the age of 79, on June 6, 2022, surrounded by the love of family and friends. She bravely fought cancer for over two and a half years and her courageous attitude serves as an inspiration to always find the good in life and not let the bad get you down.
The family would like to thank the entire Atrium Health and Levine Cancer Institute teams for providing exceptional care and giving us an extra two years with mom. We would also like to thank the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Senior Home Share for helping care for Jenny during her final days.
