Virginia Ruth Coulson Semones, 88, of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Semones was born in Carroll County to the late Curtis Meade and Ima Mae Davis Coulson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Burley Semones. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Leonard Banks and Burline and Larry Mitchell all of Hillsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Carson and Linda Semones of Boones Mill, and John and Debbie Semones of Roanoke; brother and sister-in-law, Curtis Glen and Patsy Coulson of Radford; ten grandchildren; and twenty seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Sky View Missionary Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Wendell Horton and Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb-Skyview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. The family says that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
