Obituary

On Tuesday, September 10, 2013, our dear mother, Virginia Bralley Anderson, went to be with her LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ. Waiting there for her were her husband, Alfred Anderson, her parents, Roy and Annie Bralley, her sister, Pat Reece, and three brothers, Todd, John, and Roy Bralley, Jr.. She is survived by three sons and their spouse: Jerry and Rhonda Anderson of Hillsville, Randy and Lisa Anderson of Galax, and Kirk and Lisa Anderson of Nashville, Tenn Six Grandchildren: Jennifer Bunn, Brian Anderson, Eric Anderson, Ian Anderson, Anna Anderson, and Ashlyn Anderson; four great-grandchildren: Vivian and Ephraim Bunn, Bentley and Braylee Anderson. Survivors also include one sister and brother-in-law, Emma and Donnie Taylor of Dublin, Va., a brother-in-law and spouse, William "Bub" and Sue Anderson of Roanoke; brother-in-law, Robert Ogle of Rural Hall, N.C., Sister-in-law and spouse, Elizabeth and Nathan "Tuck" Lephew of Austinville, and three sister-in-laws: Shirley Bralley of Lynchburg, Delphia Bralley of Rural Hall, N.C., and Sandra Carter of Va. Beach, Va. Virginia accepted the Lord as her Savior and was baptized on August 10, 1960. She was a faithful member of the Assembly Of God Church in Austinville, where she served God as a Sunday School teacher in the "Teens" class for many years. She was employed 24 years at Klopman's, a division of Burlington Industries in Dublin, Va. Upon the plant's closing, she fulfilled her life's ambition of becoming a nurse when she enrolled in the nursing program at New River Community College. She graduated and received her LPN, and worked for Dr. Nathan Tuck of Tuck Chiropractics for 13 years until her retirement. Following Alfred's death, she moved to Hillsville to be near her children. There she attended Skyview Baptist Church and Fairview Presbyterian Church until her health declined and was unable to attend services. She was active in the Senior Citizens Group as well. Virginia was a faithful wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a very caring person, a friend to all who know her, and a blessing to everyone she met. Her faith was deeply embedded in the scriptures and she loved God with all her heart, mind and soul. She will truly be missed. Heaven is nearer since mother is there. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Wendell Horton officiating. Entombment will follow in the West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
