Virgil J. Bolen, 63, of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Bolen was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Garfield and Imo Carpenter Bolen. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Ann Bolen and brother, Jack Bolen. Survivors include his children and spouses, Merinda Stephenson, Jeff and Amanda Bolen, Keith and Erin Bolen, and Kevin and Shirley Bolen, all of Ohio; siblings and spouses, Beverly and Mike Clontz, E.G. and Linda Bolen, Curtis Bolen, and Rev. Ray and Irene Bolen, all of Hillsville; sister-in-law, Christine Bolen of Hillsville; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ernest Smith, Pastor Jeff Pickett, and Pastor Rudy L. Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Farmer Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
