Violet Franklin Stone, 84 of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2008 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her parents, Lee & Ruth Reynolds Franklin; sister Lucy Dalton; brother Grover Franklin. She is survived by brothers & sisters-in-law; Layman & Peg Franklin of Chapel Hill, NC; Charles & Lucy Franklin of Martinsville; sister & brother-in-law Lydia & Ray Phillips of Dugspur; special friend Evonne Jessup, and her special family at Wheatland, also several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday November 13, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, family will receive friends on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Lindsey Marshall Cemetery. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.
