Violet
Brickey
January 20, 1932 – March 6, 2026
Violet Brickey, 94 of Max Meadows, Virginia, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Vearl Brickey, grandson, Mark David Brickey, parents James William and Anna Marie Jarrett; brothers, Nuke, Roger, John, Pete, Henry, Russell, William, and Leroy; and her beloved Yorkie Levi.
Violet was an avid gardener admiring all flowers, the butterflies that visited and the birds in the yard. She loved tending to her African Violets, Christmas cactus and huge aloe Vera plants in the house. She could rehab any dying plant. Violet loved to cook, making herself three meals a day right to the end. She especially liked making sure Levi had his people food. She was a social butterfly and loved to chat with anyone who would listen. She still called her 60+ year old children her "kids" and would never turn down anything sweet you put before her.
Survivors include her daughters and their spouses: Rhonda Kirby of Winston Salem, NC; Donna Brickey and Chris Walsh, Lyman SC and Debra Brickey of Portland OR; Her sons and daughter in laws: Larry and Jean Brickey, Steens, MS and Todd and Elizabeth Brickey of Max Meadows, VA; Her sister and brother in law: Clara and Ray Spraker; Her Grandchildren and spouses: Crystie Kirby Owens and Roger Kelly Owens, Audrey and Rusty Stowers, Anthony Brickey, Robyn and Chad Seagraves and Kevin and Kelly Brickey. Her great -grandchildren, Cody Owens and fiancé Courtney, Wake Seagraves, Huxley Seagraves and Addison and Sydney Stowers.
