Viola Grace Sowers, 92 of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2008 at Waddell Nursing Home. Mrs. Sowers was born in Carroll County, VA to the late William Preston Webb and Mary Elizabeth Martin Webb. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Arlis Sowers. She is survived by her son Gordon Sowers of Hillsville; daughter & son-in-law Marie & Jack Cox of Galax; sister & brother-in-law Allene & Lester Gardner of Fancy Gap; grandchildren & spouse Steven & Bonnie Cox and Lisa Cox; and great grandson Andrew Cox.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Elder Melvin McGrady officiated. Burial will follow in the Gladesboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 1:00 PM until funeral service time.
