Victor Ernest Ayers, 90 of Cana, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Waddell Nursing and Rehab. Mr. Ayers was born in Carroll County to the late Rufus and Savada Ayers. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Cothren Ayers; sisters, Mae Ayers, June Guynn, Zettie Guynn and Ollie Ayers; and brother, R. J. Ayers.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Richard Woods; grandchildren, Matthew McMillian and Holly McMillian; great-grandchildren, Lee Branson and Daisy Branson; brother, Joseph Ayers; and neighbor and friend, Randy McMillian.

A graveside service with burial following will be held at the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Brothers Israel Gwyn and Chris Martin officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
