Vesta Lea McGrady, 91 of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at her home. Mrs. McGrady was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Clayton and Vera Alderman Webb. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Herbert McGrady; daughter, Gail McGrady Richardson; and brothers, Olen Webb, Larry Webb, and Elmo Webb.

Vesta is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Frost; son-in-law, Terry Richardson; grandchildren, Brooks Edwards (Kevin), Bobbie Watson (Brad) and Christy Wheatley; great-grandchildren, Peyton Edwards, Luke Watson, Emily Edwards, Clay Edwards, and Lily Watson; siblings, Betty Lou Meredith, Reva Evelyn Banks (Foy), Coy Delton Webb (Gillian), Damon Clayton Webb (Joyce), Kenneth Wise Webb (Yvonne), and Nancy Grubb (Keith); sisters-in-law, Lois Jean McGrady and Sandra McGrady; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Bobby Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to Mountain Valley Hospice 7599-C Carrollton Pike, Galax, VA 24333 or to the John Patterson Webb Cemetery c/o Donna Ayers 121 Bluemont Lane, Fancy Gap, VA 24328.
