Vernon "Dale" Goad, 73 of Dugspur, Virginia, passed away on October 19, 2022 at his home. He was a Vietnam Veteran who was proud to serve his country. He enjoyed playing softball on a team for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Marjorie Gardner Goad and brother, Michael Dean Goad.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Regenia Dalton Goad; his son, Christopher Dale Goad and friend, Teresa Quesenberry; his granddaughter, Katelyn Compton and her mother, Linsey Compton; his other siblings, Audrey Nester and Conrad Quesenberry; two sisters-in-law, Joy Quesenberry and Gaylene Quesenberry; and his best friend, his dog Buddy.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. A graveside service with burial following will be held at the Gardner Cemetery in Dugspur on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at 3:00 PM with Elder Dan Puckett officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
