Vernie Randall Gravley, age 65, formerly of Hillsville, passed away at his home on Claytor Lake on Thursday, August 21, 2014. Mr. Gravley is survived by his wife, Judy Surratt Gravley; son, Graham Randall Gravley and wife, Madeline; and daughter, Gretchen Gail Gravley Tucker and husband, Scott. Left also to cherish his memory are two grandchildren, Granger Lochlan Tucker and Gracen Ainsley Tucker; brother, Greg Morgan Gravley and wife, Sharon; sister, Veronica Meredith and husband, Kenneth; sister-in-law and spouse, Sue and Don Porterfield; brother-in-law and spouse, Jimmy and Jackie Surratt; and mother-in-law, Rosemary Stilwell Surratt. The family will receive friends at the Hillsville Christian Church on Sunday, August 24, 2014 from 1:30 to 3:00 PM. A celebration of life service will follow at the church at 3:00 PM.
