Vernia G. Largen, 86, of Hillsville passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Hillsville Health and Rehabilitation of Hillsville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Patterson (Pat) J. Largen; parents, Edgar Guy and Ila Gardner Nelson.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Donny Dean of Max Meadows; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Delores Largen of Hillsville; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Robert King of Stuart; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Barbara Nelson of Collinsville; two grandchildren, Morgan Dean, and Madison Dean. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Hillsville Health and Rehabilitation of Hillsville for the care they gave to Vernia.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Elder Ronald Bowman and Rev. Vinton Quesenberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Bobbitt Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 1, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Largen family.
