Vergie Cox Wright, 95 of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Wright was born in Carroll County to the late James & Louanna Gallimore Cox. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband David George Wright and sons Curtis David Wright and Douglas George Wright. She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law Gary & Teresita Wright of Jackson, GA and Carl Collin & Carolyn Wright of Wake Forest, NC; daughters & son-in-law Connie Fay Saunders of Mebane, NC and Juanita & Wayne Bowers of Hillsville; brother Gene Cox; 12 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Gary E. Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the Dinwiddie Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, July 24, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
