Vergie Coulson Stone, 92 of Austinville, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her husband Carl W. Stone, Sr.; parents Sidney R. & Alcy Beasley Coulson; and children Harvey D. Stone, Murlene Stone, Herman L. Stone, Nelva Stroupe, and Nolan L. Stone. She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law Carl. W. (June) & Pat Stone, Jr. of Austinville, Rufus & Leota Stone of Kent, OH, Archie (Bud) & Phyllis Stone of Akron, OH, and Kenneth & Zana Stone of Max Meadows; daughters & sons-in-law Anna & Willie Robinson of Austinville, Fredia & Boyd Isom of Hillsville, and Rebecca (Jewel) & Dennis Melton of Woodlawn; daughters-in-law Patsy Stone and Karen Stone; son-in-law Charlie Stroupe; brother-in-law & spouse Roy & Martha Stone; sister-in-law Lynn Hawley; 24 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; 1 great-great-great grandchild; 14 step grandchildren; 19 step great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Ronald Bowman and Elder Edward Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas Beasley Cemetery. Mrs. Stone will lie in state at the church one hour before the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Saturday, March 12, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
