Vera Jean Nester, 53 of Fancy Gap, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. Ms. Nester was preceded in death by her mother Flora Gardner and brothers Ricky Taylor and Bobby Taylor. She is survived by her daughter Rebecca (Becky) Taylor and Vestal Dalton of Fancy Gap; son Michael D. Taylor; step father James Gardner of Austinville; step son Charlie Nester of Fries; grandchildren Andrew Stilwell, Austin Stilwell, Josh Stilwell, and Jessica Stilwell; special friend Charles A. Nester; step grandchildren Tequilla Dalton, Lexus Dalton, and Bradley Dalton; one niece; three nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Nathan Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Osborne Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
