Veta Asbury Rose, 80 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack David Rose; parents, Alonzo Maxwell and Rosa Mae Asbury; sisters, Doris Marie Asbury and Nannie Phillips; brothers, Hubert Asbury, Carlisle Asbury, and Edward Dexter Asbury.

She is survived by her sisters and brothers in law, Margie Julie and Rev. Carter Wells of Bristol, VA, Daisy and Albert Daniels of Delaware, Eula and Gene Wilkes of Dickerson, MD, Beulah Combs of Marcus Hook PA, and Dorothy and David Riley of New Hall, WV; brothers and sisters in-law, James Elmer and Linda Asbury of Lindley, NY, and Chester and Maria Asbury of Bethesda, MD. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Carter Wells and Rev. John Canning officiating. Burial will follow in the Pickett Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 one hour prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
