Valerie Lynn Cochran, 47, of Florence, SC, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2013 at her home. Valerie was born in Galax, VA to the late Marcus Carlin and Rita Diane Gray Chappell. Survivors include her son, Matthew Cochran of Florence, SC; brothers and sister-in-law, Mike and Naomi Chappell of Hillsville and William Chappell of Florence, SC; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service with inurnment following will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Alan Akers Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dale Akers officiating. There will be no visitation. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
