Uldine Ethel Vass, 82, of Fancy Gap, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Vass was born in Bassett, Virginia to the late Willie Lewis and Bertha Aldridge Roberson. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a brother Lynwood Doyle Roberson and a sister Ruby Spencer. Survivors include her husband William Emmett Vass of the home; daughter and son-in-law Emily and John Collins of Hillsville; sisters Jamie Cuttrell of Columbia, NC and Jackie Compton of Martinsville; granddaughters & spouses Tracy and Matt Koski of Marysville, OH and Susan and Darin Byrd of Galax; and great grandchildren Brittany Byrd, Dylan Koski, Noah Koski, and Nathan Koski. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Wendell Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb-Skyview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 until 3:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
