Troy Howard Phillips, Sr. 85 of Barren Springs passed away Saturday, November 19, 2005 at his residence. Mr. Phillips is survived by his daughters & sons-in-law Becky & Joe Ramos of Charlottesville, VA, Debbie & Don Sumner of Barren Springs, and Julia & Tony Billings of Fries; sons & daughter-in-law Troy Jr. & Rhonda Phillips of Wicomico, VA, Dennis Phillips of Spencer, Jeffrey Phillips of Harrisonburg, VA, and Mark Phillips of Hillsville; sister & brother-in-law Edith & Dallas Cain of Hillsville; 13 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and former wife Mary Elkins.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville at 11:00 A.M. The Rev. Nathan Montgomery will officiate. Burial will follow in Osborne Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Monday night at the funeral home.
