Troy Clinton Horton, 75 of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2010 at his home. He was born in Carroll County on January 24, 1935 to the late Troy Clyde & Julia Annie Sutphin Horton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Ina Mae (Doll) Horton.

Survivors include daughters Linda Horton and Mildred Horton both of Hillsville; sons & daughter-in-law James & Debbie Horton of Galax and Virgil Horton of Hillsville; sister-in-law Susie Jennings of Hillsville; brothers-in-law & spouse Walter & Joyce Jennings of Salem, VA and Johnny Hicks of Hillsville; grandchildren Ethan Dale Horton and Kacie Lynn Horton of Willis; step granddaughter & spouse Bessie & Allan Hilbert of Galax; step great grandchildren Keith Hawks, Jessica Hawks, and Chelsey Mullins all of Galax; step great-great grandson Leland Hawks of Galax; aunts Annie Mae Horton of Fancy Gap, and Sadie Horton of Hillsville; and several cousins and special friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ted Bartlett, Rev. Chris Carlisle, Rev. Carl Ginder and Rev. Norman Goad officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 from 4:30 PM until 8:30 PM. Flowers would be appreciated; however donations may be made to the family.
