Troy Goad, 98, of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at his home. Mr. Goad was born in Carroll County to the late Richard Lee and Geneva Nester Goad. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Jessie Goad; daughter Hazel Jennings King; and six brothers and sisters. Mr. Goad is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Everett and Betty Goad of Elyria, OH; brother and sister-in-law Norman and Ruth Goad of Hillsville; six grandchildren and spouses David and Jeannie Jennings, Todd Jennings and Dahna Lineberry, Carrin and Jeffrey Andress, Gary and Tami Goad, Thomas and Crystal Goad, and Laura and James Miller; seventeen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 9, 2012 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Norman Goad officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin-Fariss Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 8, 2012 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family
