Tommy "Chub" Dale Cox, 73 of Meadows of Dan, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024.  Mr. Cox was born in Patrick County, Virginia to the late Thurman V. and Octavia Stanley Cox.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Shockley.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Cox; daughters, Robin Underwood (Sampson) and Amanda Cox (Chris Johnson); grandchildren Meagan Crowder (Adam), Ethan Underwood (Emily), Eli Underwood (fiancé, Morgan Prater), Hendrick Johnson, and Maisie Johnson; great-grandchildren, Landry Crowder and Lincoln Underwood; siblings, Ricky Cox (Debra), Annie Ruth Barr, Bobby Thompson (Glenda), Butch Thomspon, and Elsie Gray (Billy); father-in-law, Wesley Conner; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 1:00 PM with Pastors Nathan Montgomery and Howard Nester officiating.  Burial will follow in the Maple Shade Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
