TJ Martin, 80 of Dugspur, passed away on Friday November 10, 2023, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Martin was born in Pennsylvania to the late John Alton and Ida McWilliams Martin. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two daughters, Cynthia R. Hancock, and Linda (Lynn) Foster; his first spouse Sandra Martin, and two brothers, Lake Martin, and John (Jack) Martin.

Survivors include his wife, Elnor Martin; children, Michael Martin, Terry Martin, Todd Jay (TJ) Martin, Karen Bennett, Jeannette Watt, April Cope and Eugene McCurdy; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were all typically referred to as "Frank."

Mr. Martin served in the US Army and served during the Vietnam war. He was a combat engineer in the 9th Infantry, within the Company C 15th Engineer Battalion. He was honorably discharged with an E5 ranking and awarded with the Order of the Purple Heart, along with a National Defense Services Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal, and a Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday November 17th, 2023, at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00PM with Pastor Michael Morris officiating. Burial will follow. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 until 2:00PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
