Tilda Lucille Phillips, 88, of Ararat, Virginia passed away Friday, January 16, 2026 in the Waddell Nursing Home, Galax, Virginia. Mrs. Phillips was born October 7, 1937 to the late Lee and Annie Atkins Eastridge.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Andrew Phillips; children Winfred Phillips, Lonnie Phillips and Lora Mae Guynn and two brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her children Gary Phillips, Mary (Tony) Nester, and Georgia Phillips; sisters Hilda Lineberry and Milda Bowers; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Ricky Martin officiation.  The burial will follow in the Laurel Fork Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday January 19, 2026 from 6 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home.
