Tida Marshall Huff, 103, of Sylvatus, Virginia passed away on June 16, 2018 at Surry Health and Rehab in Mt. Airy, NC. Tida was born in Carroll County, Virginia on March 9, 1915 to the late Norman and Laura Marshall. She graduated from Sylvatus High School and Radford University and was a teacher and Principal for 32 years. She was a member of Sylvatus Christian Church and Carroll County Retired Teachers. Mrs. Huff was an avid bowler and loved cooking, gardening, canning, sewing, quilting, knitting, reading, traveling and enjoyed card games with family and friends.

Tida was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Cannie Lee Huff and her seven wonderful sisters and brother.

Left to treasure her memory are her daughter, Betty Sue Smith (Donald) of Mt. Airy, NC; sons, Jack Huff of Athens, GA, Bobby Huff of Sylvatus, VA, and Nelson Huff of Marion, VA; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. David Bays officiating. Burial will follow in the Osborne Cemetery in Sylvatus, VA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sylvatus Christian Church 63 Quick Drive, Hillsville, VA 24343 or Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200 Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
