Thurston Lee Dycus, Jr., 74 of Laurel Fork, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026.  Mr. Dycus was born in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Clara Mattox Dycus and Thurston Lee Dycus, Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Mabry; children, Angela Hunter (Mike), Lennon Hiatt (Melissa), and Derek Mabry; grandchildren, Alexis, Christopher, Eli, Aubrie, and Mason; and nephews, Sherman Matthew Dycus (Erin) and Charles Dycus; and niece, Janet Willingham.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Sarah Mabry officiating.  Burial will follow in the Webb Family Cemetery in Laurel Fork.  Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
