Thomas Ray
Throckmorton, Sr.
August 12, 1981 – June 14, 2022
Thomas Ray Throckmorton, Sr., 40 of Mount Airy, NC passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at his home. He was born in California on August 12, 1981 and was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Ray Throckmorton.
Thomas Throckmorton, was a one-of-a-kind person. Everyone that knew Him, always recognized that big smile and booming voice. He always had a hello for all he knew; and never met a stranger. Thomas, was a devoted Husband, Father, Son, (son-in-law) Friend, brother, (brother-in-law) nephew, Uncle Tom and the absolutely best Pepaw, a grandchild could ask to have. He was a faithful member and Sunday school teacher at Cedar Lane Baptist Church in Cana, Virginia. He was also called to preach three years ago; and had the blessing to be able to do so a lot in that time. Thomas, was always speaking to others and encouraging them, with God's words and promises. Thomas, was always there when anyone needed a helping hand; with anything needing to be done. He never asked for anything in return; putting others before himself, till his dying day. Full of laughter, spunk and a Teddy bear's heart, he was so much fun to be around; and once you met him, you'd never forget him. The world has truly lost a Great man of God; and an irreplaceable strong tower of a family man that loved boundlessly. Thomas, had a forgiving heart that truly is an example for others to live by. He is sorely missed by everyone, that loved and knew him. There's no one on this earth, that will ever fill the void in our hearts; that such a charismatic, strong, loving man left us with. We can all be comforted knowing, He is with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ; and by his favorite scripture: John 16:33~These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In this world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have already overcome the world.
Survivors include his wife, Crystal Throckmorton; children, Thomas Throckmorton, Jr. and Nicholas K. Throckmorton and Ceara Throckmorton; mother, Cherly Ann Throckmorton; grandchildren, Sunny Raine Throckmorton, Ethan Kolt Throckmorton, and Sienna A'lexus Throckmorton; and sister, Linsay Ray Throckmorton.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Cedar Lane Baptist Church at 1:00 PM with Pastor Ed Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the McCraw Family Cemetery. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
