Thomas R. Shockley, 84 of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at his home. Mr. Shockley was born in Carroll County to the late Cecil Stuart and Fannie Ella Rhoda Morris Shockley. In addition to his parents, Mr. Shockley was also preceded in death by his wife, Glenna Jane Shockley and brother, Hurley Shockley.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, James and Cynthia Shockley, David and Sabrina Shockley, Mark and Tracy Shockley and John Shockley and friend, Tonja, all of Hillsville; sisters, Elsie Turner, Lillian Alexander, and Lucille Bise; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; very special caretaker, Jessica Bobbitt; and special friends, Blue Ridge Home Care and Home Base Primary Care.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Donnie Hooker and Rev. Edward Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Shockley Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The family ask that no flowers be sent and that instead a donation be made to the Shockley Cemetery c/o Barbara Shockley 156 Mourning Dove Drive, Hillsville, VA 24343.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
