Thomas Creighton Nester, 66 of Hillsville passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at his home. He was born in McDowell County, West Virginia to the late Henry Conduff & Cloie Dalton Nester. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother H.C. Bussie Nester. He is survived by his wife Darla W. Nester of the home; sons & daughter-in-law Derrick & Beth Nester and Dustin Nester all of Hillsville; granddaughters Chloe Ann Nester and Kayleigh Grace Nester; sisters & brothers-in-law Connie Gay & Moir Nester, Phyllis Nester, Jean & Arlin Surratt, Joan & Namon Strickland, and Rebecca & Sandy Hendrick all of Hillsville; and brother & sister-in-law Bennie & Sue Nester of Galax.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Crooked Oak Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Oscar Hill and Rev. Sandy Hendrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Nester Cemetery at Crooked Oak Church. Mr. Nester will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
