Thomas Edwin Neff, age 60, passed away at his home in Woodlawn, Virginia on August 24, 2023. He was born in Radford, Virginia on August 19, 1963. Thomas "Tommy" grew up in Hillsville with his loving family, Harry K., Lucy H. Neff and sister Barbara. His family founded Neff Insurance Agency affiliated with Nationwide Insurance. At HK's retirement, Tommy and Barbara assumed the business. Tommy served the community as an insurance agent for 33 years. He reluctantly retired due to failing health in 2021. When not working or with family, Tommy could be found at the golf course. He was a talented golfer and enjoyed sharing his skills and golf knowledge with novice golfers.

Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Rene Neff; daughter, Makenzie Carter and husband Dustin Carter, their children, Clara, John and Nora; daughter Morgan Neff and fiancé, Darian Brown; Mother, Lucy H. Neff.; Sister, Barbara Bostic and her husband Billy Ray Bostic, one nephew and niece. Survivors also include his life-long friends.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Harry K. Neff.

As a devoted father to Morgan and Makenzie, he never missed a softball game, basketball game, volleyball game, bluegrass show or FFA event. He was an advocate for and supporter of Galax High School and Carroll County High School athletics and would appreciate donations to those programs, in lieu of flowers.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Wendell Horton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 27, 2023 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
