Obituary

Thomas Harold Graham, 78 of Hillsville, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 23, 2006. He was born July 9, 1927 in Boston, Mass, to the late Thomas Samuel Graham and Elizabeth Tibbets Fuller Graham. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Martha Timulty and Patricia Horne both of Boston, Mass. He was baptized into the Baptist faith as a youngster in Boston and attended the Hillsville First Baptist Church.

He married Martha Willadean Dalton Graham on July 26, 1959. He and his bride traveled throughout the world while he served in the United State Air Force. He served in both the Korean War and Vietnam and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1115. He retired from the Air Force after 23 years service and settled in Hillsville, Virginia in 1969. He went to work for Sprint and retired from Sprint in 1991.

Tom was a devoted husband, a loving father and a doting grandfather. He enjoyed sports, NASCAR, woodworking and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Willadean Graham; one son Thomas Harold Graham, Jr. and wife Robin of Hillsville; three daughters Beth Graham of Hillsville, Teresa Meadows and husband Mark of Meadowview, VA and Catherine Gillen and husband Kevin of Springfield, VA; four grandchildren Christina Meadows, Marcus Meadows, Mason Graham, and Lucas Graham; special niece and nephew Theresa Timulty and Michael Timulty of Boston, Mass. and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Steve Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow at Monta Vista Memory Gardens in Galax. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville, V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel.
